Dr. Hulya Odabas was raised in a single-mother household. Her mother raised four daughters on her own, instilling a deep belief in education, independence, and responsibility.

Through discipline and sacrifice, her mother ensured all four daughters were educated and prepared to lead lives of purpose. Education was not optional—it was the foundation for opportunity and choice.

In September 2024, Dr. Odabas lost her mother. That moment inspired the creation of One Mother Many Daughters to honor her legacy.

The foundation supports girls and young women raised in single-mother households who aspire to pursue their education. By investing in daughters, we honor the strength of mothers and extend the impact of their sacrifice.

Founder

Dr. Hulya Odabas

Dr. Hulya S. Odabas is the Founder of One Mother Many Daughters, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting girls and young women raised in single-mother households through education and opportunity.

Raised by a single mother who independently educated and supported four daughters, Dr. Odabas brings both lived experience and professional expertise to the foundation’s mission. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and has spent over a decade working in education, counseling, and leadership development, with a focus on access, persistence, and equity.

Dr. Odabas founded One Mother Many Daughters to honor the strength of single mothers by investing in the futures of the daughters they are raising.

Secretary

Mirkena Ozer

Mirkena Ozer is a passionate youth and parent educator, teacher, freelance writer, and public speaker. She brings a strong commitment to education, equity, and community empowerment to her role on the Board of Directors.

Mirkena holds a Master’s degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Georgia State University, and has dedicated her work to supporting young people and families through education and advocacy.

Treasurer

Adil Odabasoglu

Adil Odabasoglu is an Economics student at University of California San Diego with a strong interest in systems thinking, operations, and impact-driven work.

With a background in process management and analytical problem-solving, Adil brings a data-informed perspective to the Board and supports the responsible financial stewardship of One Mother Many Daughters.
